--- Play Information ---
Game :UnrealTournament
Level Name :The Sphere of Fear
Single Player :YES, in botmatches
Capture The Flag :YES
Deathmatch :NO (not intended, but you can try!)
Domination :NO
New Sounds :NO
New Graphics :NO
New UnrealScripts  InvisibleBotsTeleporter.u and another one for the
redeemer warning, but that one is embedded in the map file
External DLLs :NO
Recommended players :The map is small enough for 1-on-1, but the more players
you put in there, the more fun! There are 24 playerstarts,
but putting in more than 16 players may cause some slow-down
on slower computers. For botmatches, I recommend playing with
at least 7 bots (see "Known Bugs").
Known bugs :YES, see below

Extended description
--------------------
Respawn in a small room, watch the enemy team respawn on the ceiling, and
enter the battlefield using one of the teleporters. Then go play Capture the
Flag inside a huge hollow sphere with no up or down!

Author's Notes
--------------
HISTORY:
After reading a tutorial on warpzones by Dave Arendash
(http://members.home.net/darendash/PortalTutorial.html), I decided to challange
him by making a huge hollow icosahedron (a 'ball' of 20 triangles) in which
players can walk on all sides (CTF-Sfear). That didn't quite work out, so I
abandonned the project and tried a different approach (CTF-Sfear][). I've
successfully constructed a hollow sphere, by cutting it in 6 pieces and by
linking these segments with warpzones. As far as I know, this has never been
done before.
REDEEMER TRICK:
You may notice a redeemer hanging above your flag. How do you
get up there? You don't. This redeemer is not for you. Go to the enemy flag and
look up. THAT is your redeemer. How do you get it? Grab the enemy flag and keep
standing on that spot (the little square) for FIVE (5) long seconds. That's
right, just freeze at that spot. If you're still alive and standing there after
those 5 seconds have past, you'll be rewarded for your bravery (or stupidity?)
and you'll be kicked up to the redeemer! I can already hear you think "Why go
through all this trouble while I have a translocator?". Believe me, that won't
work. Translocators are totally useless in this map, so you might as well
disable them in the first place.
SPECTATORS:
For those who like to watch the bots fight (like me), I've placed camera's at the
bases, because you can't use teleporters as spectator. Hit the jump key to switch.

Known Bugs *** PLEASE READ THIS ***
----------
Please don't be scared off by this big list, these are just minor flaws; it's
really not that bad.
WARPZONES:
You may sometimes see some HOM (Hall of Mirrors) at a conjunction
of 3 segments. It's not much, and you probably won't even notice if you weren't
searching for it. Players, projectiles and the electrical beams may not
always be displayed properly when viewing them through a warpzone. I couldn't
use real flares at the ends of the beams, because you can't see flares through
a warpzone. On one computer, I couldn't look through the glass in the respawn
room. I guess the problem lies with that computer's video card and setting,
because this map runs fine on any other system I've tested it on.
BOTS:
Bots don't like warpzones. That's why I've scripted the InvisibleBotsTeleporter.
It acts just like a normal teleporter, but it will only accept bots and it will
not play any effects upon teleportation. I've put these in front of all teleporters
to ensure good botplay.
However a bot who has just taken the flag and is uninjured and has no enemies in
sight sometimes aimlessly runs forth and back through a teleporter. This happens
sometimes when there are very few players. If anyone knows how to solve this flaw,
please e-mail me. I've tried any combination and positioning of AlternatePaths,
but nothing seemed to help. When playing a botmatch, putting in more bots will
solve the problem; I recommend 7 or more bots.
Also, bots can't see past warpzones. To compensate for your advantage, I suggest
you set them to godlike or something, or you could put more bots on the enemy team.
WEAPONS:
You can't shoot past warpzones with bullet or laser weapons. Just grab that
Flak Cannon and Rocketlauncher (they're right in front of you when you respawn)
and blow something up with those. Redeemer driving is very 'interesting'.
MULTIPLAYER:
This map won't work for clients of a non-dedicated server. They'll get stuck at
the warpzones all the time. Run this map on a dedicated server instead. This should
work fine, although I've never tested this.
